Generative AI
Models as design material, image, text, 3D, and audio systems shaped into expressive creative tools.
We are a design research center where creative intelligence meets computational craft, creating the interfaces, tools, and systems people will use, trust, and live with in the age of AI.
cciD operates at the frontier between art & design school rigor and industrial research. We pair designers, researchers, and engineers on problems that don't yet have a vocabulary, and prototype our way to the answers.
Our work spans generative AI, human-AI interaction, computational design, and physical AI: intelligent objects and environments that sense, respond, and adapt. It moves between center-initiated experiments and projects grounded in real industry collaboration.
Models as design material, image, text, 3D, and audio systems shaped into expressive creative tools.
New grammars for collaboration between people and intelligent agents, trust, agency, and legibility.
Design as systems and code, parametric, generative, and data-driven approaches to form and behavior.
Intelligence embodied in objects, robots, and spaces that perceive and act in the physical world.
Speculative and post-screen interaction, voice, spatial, ambient, and multimodal experiences.
Sponsored research with global partners, real briefs, real constraints, real deployment.
Summer 2026 Research Internship. Join a small team of designers, researchers, and creative technologists working on AI, interaction design, future interfaces, and emerging systems. Three internship positions are available for Summer 2026. Internships run for 2-3 months at cciD in Seoul, with hybrid flexibility and opportunities for extension.
Design and build interactive systems, front-end and/or back-end, structured around real user flows and goals. Prototype experiences, wire up LLM and agent workflows, and build the experimental tools the studio runs on. You turn speculative ideas into things people can actually use.
Shape how people and AI talk to each other. You'll design and prototype interactions for systems that are conversational, probabilistic, and alive, turning rough ideas into things people can actually feel, use, and trust.
Own the visual and motion language of AI products, from typographic systems and editorial layout to the finest moments of motion. You'll hold every screen to a high standard of craft: precise type, deliberate grids, and interfaces refined down to the pixel.
Our team shifts fluidly around every project. What begins as a prototype often evolves into real products, exhibitions, research publications, and experiences that reach people well beyond the studio.
Directed by Prof. Kyuha Shim
We run experimental work as joint research, collaborating with engineering schools like KAIST and major agencies, then share it through products mass-produced in the fall or in our second-half exhibition.
Depending on your skills and experience, you may be placed on global tech / large-enterprise industry-academic projects with our partners.
We read every application. Show us your curiosity and your craft, polished portfolios welcome, works-in-progress even more so. Applications close June 28.
